    Family Transfer

I have a 410 shotgun registered to me in CA that I want to give to my nephew in Arkansas.
How do I go about doing this?
Local FFL to AR FFL, or does he do it on his end?

    Thanks.

Contact his FFL. You should be able to ship it straight to FFL, but some may require FFL TO FFL. Relationship does not matter

I just transferred a rifle from California, to my nephew in Michigan.

I took the rifle with a new Plano single rifle hard case that I had ordered off of Ebay which had the cardboard shipping boxes to my local FFL/ where they know me by name. Then I had them ship it to a FFL near my nephew outside of Detroit. I had researched online for a FFL dealer back there, and talked to them on the phone and by email asking if they would do the transfer before shipping it.

I paid for the shipping costs here (about 70 dollars), and my nephew has to pay the FFL dealer there/ less than 40 dollars. That is when he picks it up, and passes the background check - which involves a phone call in Michigan with no 10 days waiting period.

Plus I ordered online some ammunition to be delivered to his doorstep in Michigan. The Sportsman's Guide, was more than happy to take my money from California, and ship the boxes of ammo to Michigan to go with his rifle.
