Sponsor for Richmond Rod & Gun Club

I have recently moved to San Rafael from the Peninsula and am in need of a place to shoot.
I've been up to the Petaluma range, but it is a little too rustic for me.
I am hoping to join the Richmond Rod & Gun Club, and I am looking for a current member of the club to sponsor me.
Quick description: I've been shooting some 50-odd years, I'm a professional engineer (retired), married for 36 years, held multiple security clearances, I think you could describe me as "stable"!
Thanks for your consideration, I hope to hear for one of you Calgunners soon!
    Thanks,
    Mark

PS - I am not sure if this is the right forum to post in, but I'm sure somebody will redirect if it isn't!

It's not hard to get sponsored. Just go shoot and chat with people. One day I asked a guy about how to become a member and he was nice enough to give me his business card and member number as a sponsor.

Excellent advice by the people responding in this thread. Get to know people there.

Are you looking to just shoot at a discounted rate or do you want to join the club in a volunteer/social manner?

I'm an Action Range RO at Richmond, and the above advice is solid. Just chat up the people around you and try to get to know a member. Remember that we as members are being asked to confirm that you are a reasonable person who appreciates firearms.

Usually you don't need to become someone's best friend before they'll sponsor you.

I used to shoot there regularly in matches and I was never a member. There's really no need unless you want to become an RO.

I used to work the range at Bullseye there in San Rafael for a bit. Sadly they are no longer. Moved to Nevada. And so did I.

Richmond Rod & Gun is good to go.
