Dry time for linseed oil treatment

Just threw a few coats on my M1's stock. I think she's sucked up all she can. My enfield is a different story. More coats to go.

However, what is the suggested "dry" time before throwing a coat of wood wax on top for maximum dirt and water repelling capabilities (or atleast before I can reinstall the stocks)?

I'm using mona lisa brand linseed oil that I picked up at an art store (probably not the best best best choice but it's what I had available to me)

    The saying goes:
Once a day for a week.
Once a week for a month.
Once a month for a year.

But usually 24 hrs between 3 or 4 coats is sufficient.

I've heard that and I'm actually going to go by that for the most part, but 24 hours of dry time is good for reassembly as well?

If you're not going to shoot it right away, I would delay waxing or reassembly as long as long possible. Winter time in the bay area is probably not the best for drying a stock.
Get it hot somehow for as long as possible.

How would a warm oven, say around 100-150, assist in drying?
What about a UV light to imitate the sun?

Be absolutely darn sure you let your rags or whatever you use to apply dry outside in a well ventilated area away from combustibles.

Linseed can spontaneously combust. I made the mistake once when I was out back oiling an old stool when I was younger. Luckily I was in no danger.

Sealed long cardboard box with a hairdryer poked in one end and a similar sized vent hole in the other end.
Run the hairdryer on low heat.

If you have central air/heat, find your return air grill and prop it up in front of that for 24hrs.
