I highly doubt you can take any weapon components in a carry on.....

Firearm parts need to be checked in per TSA regulations.
^They also need to be in a locked hardside case per TSA regulations.

If you attempt to bring them in your carry on, they will be treated as firearms.
Which can result in you being arrested (worst case) and/or delayed missing your flight (best case) and the parts being confiscated (end result of either case).

As cliche as this has become, it actually made me LOL this time. I guess I was expecting it. Nice one!

I would also declare them AS guns, even though they are not. Don't expect the TSA dork to understand the legal difference.

ANY firearm part in a carry on is a violation. I got popped once for a firing pin that had gotten wedged under a divider in my brief bag and I didn't see it. The x-ray caught it, and it was unpleasant for me. They are trained to identify gun parts, and you will most likely be caught.

That's kind of funny since my sister-in-law had three shotgun shells in her purse/bag on a trip to Hawaii a few years back. When she found them, she left them in it and then travelled back with them. Undetected twice.

When I was still working for Fedex, we had to walk through a Metal Detector to come and go from the Hangar. I found a couple of dropped 9mm in a parking lot. I picked them up looked them over....new not reloads, not even scratched or dinged, so I put them in my watch pocket with the rest of my change and forgot about it. I walked through the metal detector exactly 20 times that week. Nothing....not once. Lucky for me....

First of all, there are no stupid questions...

Second, what if everyone jerked your chain and said, yes? You would be out three uppers and have serious legal issues.
