Sig P320 question

i just picked my new SIG Sauer P320 compact earlier today

very nice, everything seems to look ok EXCEPT

i noticed that if i drop the magazine, then, remove the slide, i can't insert the magazine until i put the slide back on - is that normal

the mag stops about an inch short of completely going in and im not going to try and force anything, figured I ask first about it here

once the slide is back in place it inserts with no problem at all

anyone who has the same firearm or knows, i'd appreciate your input

ahh, nevermind friends

seems to be normal - found some information about it in the owners manual

looks like the slide does need to be seated correctly on the frame in order to insert the magazine

i feel better now

yeah, that's what happens when you buy a firearm you know nothing about, lol

it caught me off guard because i just bought a SIG P226 a few weeks ago and it's magazine fits right up into the well when the slide is off with no problem

two completely different SIG's though too

i'll let ya know what i think about it after a couple of hundred rounds through it - it's the only gun im taking so it'll have my full attention

it's an awesome looking firearm - i really like the fact the internal frame assembly can easily be removed and reinserted in another P320 compact polymer frame or the regular size P320 polymer frame

There was a video by Sig on this rather alluding to it. IIRC it's the take down lever. It's a "safety" as advertised by Sig.

+1 you can not rotate the take-down lever down unless you have removed the magazine, the take-down safety lever (#3) needs to move into that empty mag-well space allowing the take-down lever (#1) to rotate. If a magazine is in the mag-well, then that lever is blocked by the magazine.

took it to the range today and it operated like a champ - im very impressed with the trigger, it's not a huge trigger like my P226 has

i've already decided this gun is going to definitely be a part of my CCW firearms
