Aye! 'tis a great, grand thing indeed to want a Garand.

CMP now sells the ones they got from the Philippines, so there are plenty for under $1K available.

Why do you want to buy a rifle that you don't know how to spell?
Do you know anything about it?

CMP is the way to go.

When they are put on consignment, they are several hundred dollars more expensive. If you would rather pay more than go through the process, there are 2 on consignment in Camarillo.

To be fair, perhaps he has spelled it the only way he has heard the name spoken by his homies contemporaries.

OP may well be the breakout star of his crew, and will wind up being the one who will enlighten those of his generation he might reach. Until then, the Garand lives on, and our young man will continue to learn.

                          We may only hope.

CMP Garands look like they have been to more than a few wars and/or dragged behind a jeep on a rocky road.

Where can one find a like new one with no signs of abuse??
