CMP is the way to go.
When they are put on consignment, they are several hundred dollars more expensive. If you would rather pay more than go through the process, there are 2 on consignment in Camarillo.Comment

OP may well be the breakout star of his crew, and will wind up being the one who will enlighten those of his generation he might reach. Until then, the Garand lives on, and our young man will continue to learn.
