    BLM Land in Sandy Eggo

Is the BLM land off the 94E just past the border patrol checkpoint closed permanently or just for the fire season? Anywhere else one can shoot on BLM land besides driving out to Campo/Desert?

    Closed for fire season
City council is voting to close it permanently.
But BLM is in charge of that land, so it's looking like the can go pound sand on that.
Head east to Imperial for now.

Thanks. Any decent spots not littered with shot up major appliances out in Imperial? Part of the reason I like shooting on BLM land is the scenery.

Yuha and Ocotillo have spots that are decent. I think the famous one by the railroad tracks south of Ocotillo is not a big secret. I prefer to go in deeper and find my own areas within BLM boundaries, but beware that Rangers DO roll up and will check ARs for compliance. Ask me how I know. Common sense applies all the usual, no glass, tannerite, blah blah blah. I wouldn't shoot clays but some do.

The info is greatly appreciated. I don't shoot anything other than cardboard or paper targets, and I clean up after I'm finished. All of my rifles are compliant, so there's no worries there. I just miss shooting on open land haha.

Those guys check everything sometimes. I just shoot the sh*t with them and show them my fine rifles to ogle.

Then we talk 4 wheel drives and it's all cool. I do keep a printed out copy of the CA gun laws just in case.
