Gun Control Argument Flowchart

Has anyone ever seen, or made a flowchart like the ones we have for "Is your gun legal?" that breaks down gun control arguments, claims, and responses. Reading comments from online articles I see the exact same talking points over and over and the exact same responses over and over. I cringe every time I see someone make an easily countered argument or spouts off a false claim or misleading statistic.

I think it would be useful and educational to take the very best pro and anti gun arguments and create a flowchart with the best responses from both sides. I would also include poor arguments and show how they could be countered on both sides. It could be a living document that was added to and changed over time as new information and better arguments were revealed.

Each branch of the chart would either loop into another portion or stop when it reached a proven falsehood or unprovable assumption.

I've considered doing something like this myself and just never gotten around to it. Maybe i will someday. I think it would help inform the debate on both sides.

That would be a mess of a document and there is not a page big enough for all the arguments that would be on there.

I think Louder with Crowder has this. If you watch his gun control change my mind videos, at the end he pulls out a binder with all the arguments prepared ahead of time. The binder looks like it is 4 inches thick filled with sources and articles.

The problem with this vintage truism is that people today, or, the hoplophobes of today, do not understand it. They have not had to live during the absolutely savage times of 150+ years ago when the American frontier was expanding from east to west with all that that entailed.

Also most urban Californians feel generally pretty safe. If you live in a gated community and stay away from the ghetto, you might not feel the need for a gun.

We all know this is a false sense of security as evil can strike anywhere at anytime. Like having a fire extinguisher doesn't mean I expect a fire, but its a good idea to have one nearby.

Even a load of facts to the contrary will rarely change the mind of an anti 2A individual.

What has been shown to work is to get said individual out shooting.

We have shooting opportunities for the Scouts and let the parents shoot too. We've had timid parents that have never shot and say "No" to their kid shooting. We tell them they can come back at the end of the day when it is not crowded and give it a try. Most say no thanks. But you can't believe how many do come back later and want to shoot! And of those that shoot, I've never had one not enjoy the experience...some get downright giddy. IMHO, that converts folks.

The Bigger issues are non voting gun owners, gun owners that vote the Dem/Lib party line, and Union members that allow their Unions to support Dem/Lib anti 2A candidates and ballot measures. Folks in these groups are stealth anti 2A and are our real problem.
