Ruger has a new Custom Shop and 2 Custom Shop Guns

One of which is a rather expensive 1911.

Read: Ruger Announces The Ruger Custom Shop & Two New Custom Shop Guns from Patrick Roberts on October 27, 2018 for Recoil.

    I'm still blinking at the $900 10/22.

$2400 1911 looks good, but I could get a Wilson at that price...

          Two things:
First, that 1911 looks ok but has koenig's name on it. I would not want any names (except the mfg) on my 1911s. Two tone and straight triggers are fugly.

Second, if you want a 900 dollar (or such) 22 caliber rifle, Browning and CZ make those types with nice walnut stocks and beautifully blued barrels. This 10/22 looks like a pig with lip stick on.
          Just my 2 cents.

I wonder how much of the price of the 1911 is because Koenig's name is on it?

That 1911 is a good value at that price point

Compared to the Springfield Professional, the Ruger offers more features...if your interest extends into Action Pistol shooting
...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's Tale

Not great photos but what they're calling an undercut trigger guard does not look good.

I think Ruger has missed the mark with these two offerings, more so with the 1911 that is in the ball park of custom builder prices. I just don’t think Ruger and 1911 inspire confidence (personal opinion obviously). The 10-22 may actually be ok, if it flat out performs in function and accuracy. I’d like to see how this rifle does in some reviews.
Life was simpler, and more honest, when revolvers and lever actions were the rule.

For a couple hundred more, you can get a full Kidd build 1022. The Kidd trigger would cost the difference.

I was hoping that by "custom shop" they would build to suit. I haven't been able to determine 100%, but so far I've heard "No".
That's really too bad; I called their CS to inquire about an older SRH that I would prefer a different barrel length. They said they would not do that.
I replied, "OK, then off to Bowen Classic Arms it goes"....
I'm patiently waiting for Bowen to handle not only that, but also some of their other upgrade work. Turn around was quoted at four to six months. I'll post up som pics when I get it back.

FWIW, My SR-1911 has worked 100% with all kinds of ammo, and is reasonably accurate for a 1911 in its price range.

Probably zero. He's a sponsored team shooter.

That cheekpiece on the 10/22 looks cheap and tacky. They should've put on one like what's on the Bergara HMR.

I have a $900 10/22 that I built myself. I also have a Marlin 60 that I paid $125 for. The 10/22 is marginally more accurate than the Marlin... marginally
