The age of adulthood should be used to determine the minimum age for everything.

    Same age for everything.

If age of adulthood is 18; then that's the minimum age to acquire any type of firearm, acquire & consume alcohol, acquire over-the-counter medications, vote, join the Military, be licensed to operate a vehicle, get married, etc.

If they want to increase or decrease the minimum age for one of the those activities, then the minimum age needs to be increased or decreased for all of them.

Your either an adult with all the rights and responsibilites of being an adult or you are not an adult (you're a minor under the care of an adult).

Yup. And the whole premise of lowering the voting age in order to implement gun control sounds like "we need more inexperienced, easily influenced, and stupid voters in order to get gun control, for who else would vote for this drivel?"

If one is too immature to own a firearm..... then one is also too immature to vote. Can’t own a gun till 21, then legal voting age should also be 21. I’m sure that will piss off the millennials

Well said I agree. I think by lowering the voting age to 16 will in effect be giving the parents extra votes. If there are two or three minor voting age children in a household odds are they will vote the way their parents want.

I’ll agree with 16 year olds voting if EVERYONE has to pass a basic IQ test AND provide valid ID before they can vote. It’s not just the age that’s a problem, it’s the stupidity of SO MANY people.

Who would these 16 year olds be able to vote for?

Cannot legally vote for senators, representatives, governor etc..

They lowered the age to 18 to get the kids to vote for the socialist ideas they were being fed in school. Raise it back to 21 so kids have some real life experience before checking the I'll give free stuff to everyone box.

If they want to lower the voting age to 16 then 16 should also be the age that they are charged and prosecuted as adults for crimes committed.
                          See how they like that.

Set voting age to the age to buy a rifle. That's now 21. Due to the mass programing in the government indoctrination system, I have little faith in most 18 year olds.

Voting age should be 21 with the exception of those who join the military. They should be able to vote at 18. The left can't win with their issues so they have to recruit people who can be easily influenced. They want people who don't have a clue as to what the consequences of their vote will be.

I have a 21 year old nephew who just recently started his 1st job at Burger King. Still living at home. So far, going nowhere in his life. Wants to be a politician. Is a democrat and has already run for a local office. Lost but wants to run for another local office and is being supported by the local democrat party. He asked me if I'd vote for him if I could. I said no, you have no qualifications for that job. Apparently, qualifications are not important to the democrats, as we can all see when you look at Sacramento.
