Making your own holster - current resources?

I am looking at making a couple of guide holsters. I know how to do basic leatherwork and so I am going to go the homemade route and save me a couple of hundred bucks.

Also, a couple of my guns are light bearing, so a customer holster would be needed anyways.

I know there have been templates or general how-tos in the past. What are you guys using nowadays?

I have made sheaths before and am proficient in tooling, stamping, riveting and stitching.

Probably more interested in sources of leather than anything.

    Thanks in advance!

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. I don't work in leather, but when I have worked in kydex, I cut the material oversized, tooled it directly against the gun and then trimmed off the excess at the end.

This guy has a few ideas! Oh, and when I needed leather to make a few homemade "holster partners" type sweat shields for my kydex holsters, I found what I needed on Amazon.
