Ok, I have a Western Field shotgun, which is just a store brand version of a Stevens 520. It is a C&R. What are the rules on turing it into an AOW short barreled shotgun with a pistol grip? Is it legal here? And do I have to keep the pistol grip on it, or is there some way to make a legal C&R short barreled shotgun?

Making a C&R shotgun into an AOW?

No, you can't make an AOW out of an existing shoulder-fired shotgun. A shotgun, once shortened, becomes an SBS, not an AOW.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
