Bay Area gunshop shelves were getting bare.

I went in to Tabor's in San Bruno and was surprised to see about 1/3 of their inventory was gone since I'd been there a month ago. Very few Glocks and Sigs left, most of the lower priced pistols were gone. Almost no 9mm or .45ACP ammo and zero .223.

I heard the owner tell another customer the ammo distributor said it will take about a year to fill all their back orders.

I was wondering what does a shop do if it sells out of inventory and can't re-supply?

It's not just up north, it's EVERYWHERE.

I'm betting some of the members here have more ammo supplied at home than their LGS.

        Close shop.

Rent is still rent, and payroll still needs to be paid.

If a shop doesn't have anything to sell, it goes out of business.

Maybe now's the time for some of us to do a few consignments and cut the store owner's take to 15%? Getting 15% of something you don't have to lay out cash in advance for is better than no sales and empty shelves.

Wow, guess it's time to weed out my safe of guns I haven't shoot in years...sells like a sellers market.

These guns are doing better than the stock market.
