    Hornady Rapid Vehicle Safe

Anybody has one of these? Mine won't close/latch shut. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

No, the barrel key isn't inserted. I push it up, it closes all the way without obstructions, but won't latch shut (as soon as I let it go, it falls back open.

I'm guessing the latch closed somehow while you had it open. You may have to unlock it before you are able to close it.

I sent them a video, they said they'll replace it. Looks like a manufacturing defect.

Locking it and unlocking it with the RFID or barrel keys had no impact.

Fantastic customer service. Took about 5 minutes of talking to them, no wait time. Great company.

I'm interested in one of these for the car. Can I keep an unloaded, ammo separate, firearm in the car with this setup at all times?

Or can it only be used going to/from range?

Same. I thought if I had this in the driver's compartment of my car, it is illegal.

                  or in a locked container.

Penal Code Section 12026.1 defines "locked container" as a secure container that is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. Locked container does not include the glove compartment or utility compartment.

                    Only if it's loaded.
