    CFARS

I just got an email from the doj saying that I needed to change the classification of my registered assault weapon. I put down multi-caliber but they said I needed to change it to interchangeable barrels. That's weird

Also when I registered it, they did not have a drop down box for the exact model so I wrote it in. Now they said I have to put in the exact model because it's listed on a drop-down box.

I registered it in the beginning of June. These people really are totally disorganized.

Sure, until they are knocking on your door asking to inspect the gun in question to verify your registration details.

Then you'll see just how organized they really are.

    Good luck.

I wonder if they have the guts to do that?

Hey BP - what model number did you use? I tried 6920 (which is the model ... reads so on the box!), but they insisted in several emails that the model was actually M4.

They sure do and have already done exactly that, leading up to the registration deadline for checking the configuration of guns people registered.

Several scenarios of that happening have been discussed here and reported, wherein the configuration was not fitting with the current registration schemes or could not be discerned by photos properly, which either led to further unfortunate situations or in others they simply advised "thank you" and moved on.

I really don't want CA DOJ on my door-step looking to inspect anything for any reason, regardless of the fact that I'm in compliance or being a good law-abiding citizen.

So jealous. I would just love to have exoneration from CA DOJ for the nod to have a genuine M4 with a 3-round burst option.

Well now when I log on (or try) using the email address that they emailed me at, they say there is no record of that address on file.

I guess I have to call them tomorrow. That should be a whole new adventure.

Yah man that's horrible, hopefully you're not the only one this happens to but I've heard mostly bad experiences with the whole registration process on both RAW and 80% lowers. Makes me wonder if DROS is any better

and given the fact that this is the state of California with almost unlimited funds, that computer system seem so antiquated that it's literally laughable.

If they tell you to call it an M4, call it an M4.
I would avoid using the model 6920 for a Colt on a registration as the Colt 6920 is a NAMED AW and would possibly get you a door knock and your dog shot.

I had better luck by just emails. No long waits and bull****. They do get back to you in this manner.
