    Gun pricing

I tried posting this in the marketplace, but I just get a template that asks for a bunch of specific gun info.

I am not ready to list specific guns yet.

I friend recently died and his wife wants me to price and sell his guns.

What is the best place to get reasonable used gun values? I mean other than just putting them up for auction and hoping for the best. I want to buy some of the guns for myself, and I want to give her a reasonable price.

Gun broker.com has a lot of auctions, but some of the prices seem like wishful thinking.

    ANY help would be appreciated.

Why not post a listing of the guns of the guns being offered. Plenty of folk here with the knowledge to help you out.

Look at completed Gunbroker listings, that had buyers who met reserve price. And posting a list here would probably also get you some good numbers.

Thank you. I do not have all the guns here, but I do know that she had a early Colt 1911.......I'm thinking 1918 or so, but someone put a REAR TARGET SIGHT ON IT!!!!!!!

I am hoping that they did not mill it out...

          Gunbroker completed auctions.

          Bluebook of Gun Values.

Finding the Blue Book value of your new and used firearms, including pistols, rifles, shotguns, airguns, and blackpowder guns is easy with the number one source of gun pricing. This site provides values and information on firearms in a convenient online pricing guide format, and allows you to find out what your used guns are worth.

Gunbroker will take a lot more time if the list is significant. Also rare or special items won't have much history.

Just create a GunBroker account and log in, then use advanced search, and use the tab on the right to find what guns sold for ..

Thank you for all the help. I did not know how to access gun broker completed auctions.

              I will create an account.

Yeah, that is why I do not want to do that. I am not looking for top dollar, but I do want to get a fair price.

I have to research how much GunBroker takes off the top......Then factor in the transfer prices. I am sure an FFL is going to charge to ship.

A nice thing about the bluebook is you can show them. It will have grades, notes, special versions, etc. It's what a shop will use.

Yup. Completed listings show what someone will pay. However, this may not work for off roster where you can get a premium in CA.

Thank you Jager. A LONG time ago, I had a blue book computer program that allowed me to create a spread sheet of all my guns.....Pictures and everything. It came on a CD.

As far as I know, that is no longer avil, but I will go to the site and check out pricing.

search the marketplace forum for the models in question to get a feel for the market.
