Ferry from Bellingham Wa to Valdez, or Whittier. My nephew takes it up to Ketchikan every summer to work on a fishing boat, after having issues at the border with his rifle. It's not cheap but better than taking chances driving through Canada.

Oh yeah good luck with the testing.

No handguns in canada. Ship or fly with them. TRy uship . Put on a barge to whittier. Try Tote maritime in Tacoma wa 2x weekly to anchorage.

I'll second the recommendations for the Alaska ferry. You can board in Bellingham, WA and then, with connections, go to Whittier. You can then drive to Anchorage, although getting through the Whittier tunnel can be a challenge.

Unless there has been a really new change to the ferry routes, you can't go to Valdez from southeast ports.

You'll see a lot of really neat sights along the way, and without the crowded bustle that you would get on a cruise ship. The ferries are kinda spartan so bring food and have some things to do. I spend the extra for a bunk or stateroom. They don't allow access to the vehicles while underway.

If you're a surfer, check out the tidal rips in Turnagain Arm. Unlike beach waves, you can ride a rip wave almost forever, but you'll need a really thick wetsuit.
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Thank's guys! I appreciate it. Will give the Ferry folks a call, as that would make things easier.

There is a scene toward the end of the movie "Commando"

The one on the beach when they go to the island. That is the way to do it, greasepaint and all.

The ferry is the best bet. My son moved back to his house in Anchorage last week. He shipped all his firearms and drove. He was detained by Canadian customs at the border because being a former Army sniper he is on a Federal watch list. (thanks for nothing feinstein). They emptied his trailer and confiscated some 30 round AR mags he had forgotten were in a box.

Fortunately they just took the mags and sent him and his wife and kids on their way. You gotta love a Country that treats it's vets this way. And no, I'm not referring to Canada.

                  All guns on border

All long guns have to inspected at the Canadian border. You have to have multiple copies of the Canadian forms for your guns. No AR type, no long guns under 16 inches, no handguns. It's a gamble trying to cross over.

I would recommend fly them in, or like someone has already said a ferry transport.

Also, ammunition has to be checked at the border. There are limitations.

Www.shipmygun.com has good rates. You could call an FFL in AK and ask them how much they would charge to store them in their safe until you pick them up.
