AR's have never been cheaper. There's a huge glut and few buyers. There'll eventually be a shake out and bunches of players will disappear. Then prices will go back up. Especially with inevitable regulations.

It's definitely a buyers market, so buy while you can and while it's cheap. Buy cheap and stack it deep.

Also, any handgun on the roster. They'll likely drop off at some point like most have done.

Bottom line is anything semi-auto that they're trying to ban is what you want.

I hate to throw a pall of doom over this thread. But if you are planning in them staying in CA stay away from anything with a removable magazine. This state will eventually ban transfer of all semi auto guns. M1 Garand = good M1 Carbine = POS. Crickets are OK but buy some early 10-22s (metal parts not plastic) and bolt action 22s for them to grow up with. Ruger is your friend on inexpensive but reliable guns. But buy stuff that was made before Ruger died. Since then and especially in the past 5-8 years the bean counters have ruined Ruger quality and are producing some real junk guns that don't work right out of the box.

        All manner of handguns
        M1 Rifles
        SKS
M1 carbine if you can find one that doesnt cost a kidney.
        AMMO, AMMO, AMMO
        And finally, more MONEY

Leave the Mosins and Mausers for the delusional neckbeards.

May I suggest reloading gear? Nice thought having your sons crank out a few rounds after your gone.

Give to NRA / ILA and Republican politicians in tight races to preserve republican control of Congress in November to guarantee your kids rights to own firearms of any kind!!!!

                Gotta agree with that.

I can't see worrying about what guns to buy children, for the future, when they may be totally uninvolved with guns. They may even be on the "other side" of the argument....and just sell your guns, lol.

They will be adults one day and can make their own decisions.

I would say move and buy NFA. My kids are all on my NFA trust so ownership will pass smoothly

IMO, we missed the boat on CnRs.
                      Lots and lots of ammo.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
