im looking at a 5 mag deal and am wondering if it would be fairly easy to sell a couple of extras mags for a reasonable price here on calguns? thaks

Why sell them? Mags are a disposable product that aren't going to last forever, put the spare's up you'll probably need them down the road.

There is no such thing as too many mags or too much ammo. Put a couple away for when the ones you're using wear out.

I noticed almost every gun store has XD magazines in stock

when something is so common and easily available the value goes down

so unless you offer them for sale really cheap
