2A Armament T3 muzzle device not a flash hider?

Hi all. I have one of these sitting around from a few years ago but never put it on a rifle. I was going through a couple of builds recently and thought I missed my chance to use this device. I could swear that the description (old version?) from a couple of years ago said it was a comp/hider. This is the current gen description:

"The development of the T3 compensator started with the need for a muzzle device that not only maintains a small size but also performs well within its intended use. The T3 is a dual baffle compensator that directs expelled gasses to control muzzle direction. The initial baffle directs gas in a geometrical pattern that stabilizes the rifle system. The second baffle system channels gasses upward to compensate for muzzle rise. This gives the shooter the ability to decrease the time between follow up shots and maintain control of muzzle direction. The T3 is a mounting solution for suppressors that mount via an A2 style flash hider."

The development of the T3 compensator started with the need for a muzzle device that not only maintains a small size, but also performs well within its intended

    Any thoughts CG?

That's a flash hider according to DOJ guidelines. It has prongs that stick out past the muzzle device opening.

Also side slots rather than holes.

Does it matter if the end only had a caliber-sized hole?

Yes, one of the descriptive criteria for features of a flash hider is an exit hole conspicuously larger in diameter than the bore of the rifle.

This one is closer than many flash hides, but I still wouldn't risk it, especially when at this price there are more than a few other options that squarely fall outside of flash hider description.

Yeah, I figured. But a bummer since I have one laying around, brand new.

Major bummer, our muzzle device laws are probably the most retarded of the retarded feature regs.
