While I haven't attended an event at Richmond I've attended a few. So here are my answers:

-I get there before they open registration as much as possible. Usually a couple hours to shoot the whole event, depending on number of guns you're shooting.
-You sign in at all stages first, then go to the stage you want to shoot in and put a check by your name, and tell them you're there. You give them one of your stickers and they put you on the tree. You'll probably wait a bit depending on the number of shooters ahead of your. When finished you go to the next stage and do it again. And again at the final stage.
-Sights, color changes (my 17 slide is Cerakoted), and grip wraps are ok along with Glock factory parts. At the events I've been to my gun has never been inspected but it is compliant to Civilian division specs.
-I've never had my mags inspected either, but it may be different at that range. If you shoot more than the allowed number of rounds you'll get a penalty though.

I say do it and have fun!

Thanks for the info. I am thinking about shooting it for the first time Sunday morning. I only have 2 Glock mags for my only stock Glock (17). I have lots of Magpul mags for it.

        - once you start, do you go through all the stages at once? or do you do one, then wait a while before being called for the next stage? (You wait at each stage
        - in the amateur division, it looks like gun must be all stock but Glock aftermarket parts may be used (like minus connectors) and no stippling is allowed, correct? I've never seen anyone hassled for stippling or grip sleeves. They only get interested when they see Red Dots, specialized triggers and such)Sho' nuff--Not a problem
        - anything else I should be aware of?
The matches are a lot of fun, Please remember that the people on the ranges are all volunteers and try to remember to say "Thanks" when you are done.
The matches are safe and fun 2 friends of mine have won Glocks at these matches and I have won several $50 prizes over the 20 plus years I've done this.
PLUS... If you are a reloader there's usually someone there selling powder and primers at good prices.
PLUS PLUS Have the Glock Armorer go over your G-19. It's free and they will replace worn parts or parts that need upgrading for FREE

Go, Have fun and win something.
