    Glock 21 vs. 2011 ( or 1911) Trigger

Hi, I've been trying to see if you have to rapid fire at different targets, or even at the same target something like the Mozambique drill, which one would be faster to shoot? A Glock 21 or a 2011 (or 1911)? I have both but have not been able to test this out for myself since all of my local ranges than start threatening to kick me out of the range if I don't shoot slower than 1 round every 3 seconds so I have no way of testing this out. Do you guys find yourselves being able to shoot faster with a Glock 21 or with a 2011 or 1911?

    1911/2011 hands down.
You can get the shot-to-shot reset under 1/16" of total travel pretty easily.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

Are you shooting competition? If not don't worry too much about which can shoot faster. Worry about which one you can hit with each and every time.

I'm thinking about competing but also self defense. I figured the faster you can accurately shoot the better. But also for competition, the faster you can accurately shoot the better.

There is no correct answer. You're chasing rainbows.

Rapid fire is about grip and "calling the shots," not about trigger. A good light trigger helps, but the skill is not in the trigger.

I was just shooting my new S&W 627 V-Comp (with the full TKC job) at the range with 38 Special loads and was pulling 17-19 splits on 8 shots at a 25 foot torso steel (A+C zone). It was actually slightly faster (by 1-2 hundredths of a second) than what I do with my Tanfoglio Limited in .40, primarily because of the recoil control via grip.

The point is that even with revolver there is enough time to work the trigger during recoil to where the limiting factor is the grip and control.
