Ammo shipping question.

A few weeks back I was trying to order some .223 from Midway, and when I went to check out, it said it doesn't ship ammo to Los Angeles. Is there any reason why ammunition can't be shipped to L.A.?

I'm not positive, but I think I remember something about a city ordnance banning ammo sales without a permit.

They wont ship to LA city for some reason but places will ship in LA county.

It's the city regulation. FWIW, purchase ammo inside city of LA require you to leave your address and also a thumb print. If your address is in LA city you are SOL. Find a buddy who does not live within city limit so he/she can receive ammo for you.

Cheaper than Dirt will deliver ammo to Los Angeles. They won't sell you a VPG but they will deliver ammo to LA. Oh, also they have a new shipping policy and will pinch you for the cost of delivery.

LA city stinks. Some out of state rogue (lol) ammo dealers will ship to LA city and not follow the reg. I don't have any contacts but they are not scared of the city who cannot do a thing to them. :-D
