Good question. Got the email today and was thinking the same.

yep, exactly what I thought. I've seen that somewhere else! though the price is pretty good, especially since I only want the pin not the block.

Definitely see a lawsuit coming... the price is very appealing though

Similar designs may look identical but be sufficiently different to pass muster. Have to assume they looked into this b4 designing, mfging and marketing their product.

                If not, then it's possible.
I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm not familiar at all with patent law. I figure any company worth its own weight does research on patents and whatnot as to not face any sort of litigation. The design seems very very similar. I'm not opposed to more products hitting the market and giving us as many options as possible when it comes to complying with the laws. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised to see Juggernaut take them to court over this. Whether they win or not remains to be seen.

Patents cost money, filing lawsuits cost money.
Is it worth it to do either for a product that has a limited market?

Patents are only as good as your pockets are deep. Defending your patents can get VERY costly VERY fast. Not something for small business.

I remember reading a interview with the guy who invented the "Razor" Kick scooter....remember those? They came out about 15 years ago and quickly became the hottest selling toy of the year.

He stated in his interview that he did something like $20,000,000 in sales that year. But immediately chicom clones starting flooding the market. The originals were like $70 and the cheap quality clones came out in the $40 range. He estimated that he lost something like $100,000,000 in sales over the next 2-3 years. He sued the crap outta several companies and got multi million dollar settlements but that was only a fraction of the money they made selling the clones.

So why wouldn't the chicom companies do it....sell a ton of product....maybe pay a settlement later that is only a fraction of your profit.

                      Sucks.

It's also the same with things like vitamins, booby enlarging creams and "Extenze" pills that claim they enlarge your junk. They make dubious claims....sell a ton of product...then the feds get involved and start a investigation. Takes a couple YEARS until they reach a settlement where they have to change the wording of their ads without admitting guilt while they cry all the way to the bank.

Hope these are of better quality than the originals. Edit: I used a push button safety instead of the lever safety,,works a lot smoother.

Well, with juggernaught charging $70 a pop on those things, they may be well on their way. 80% arms is close to half the cost. That price actually seems reasonable. Just sayin.
