Just keep them, you never know. Reloading may be the only option in CA 10 years from now.

I reload, but if someone is about to leave without picking up their brass mess, I ask if I can have it and clean their mess for them( I save it so my 3 sons will have something to load when TSHTF)!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

I used to save them because a retired friend of mine would reload them for me for the cost of materials. But we had a falling out and now I have a bunch of brass. Granted I dont collect it anymore because it's a hassle.

Meh, I've got 5 five gallon buckets of mixed brass in the other room. Mostly from brand new factory rounds.

Also have a progressive press, hand press, all the dies, powder/primers, tumbler, basically everything needed to start reloading. Had it all for about 5 years. All still NIB. No, I'm not lazy, I'm physically conservative.
            Sorry, not sorry.

In more than 15 years of shooting (I started late), I've never left brass on the floor/ground or given brass away.
I've saved brass in calibers I don't reload or have guns for.
              I think I have a problem.

I save any of my brass except RF stuff. When others are shooting new ammo at the ranges I go to I ask if they are saving it. If they are not I ask if I can have it.
I collect all centerfire brass. The stuff I do not reload like 40S&W, 243, 270, 6.8, 300BO I save and give to those that have not realized that they are worthless cartridges. There are not many others that I get that I do not reload

the price of metal is always going up and someday you might need it. better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. if you have the room then stash it. If things change you can donate it, recycle it, give it to some area that can use it. twenty years ago i got several ancient reloaders, dies, cases, and other stuff in a trade. I have no use for it except the trash can and I gave it to gunsmith who used it to teach kids how to reload where they would not get meat on the table if they did not hunt. How many of those kids are now responsible gun owners thanks to a deceased gun smith who took one man's throwaways and did something good with them? some thing I did not have the skills for back then.

If I'm outside, I make an effort to pic up my brass (for the environment, doncha know ...) but at the range I just leave them where they fall. The range collects the empties each night and has a way to make money with them, so it's a win somewhere.

I pick most of my brass up at the range, though I don't make any extra effort to find the ones that bounced into the next bay.

I keep the rarer stuff like SW500, but I give the common stuff to my buddy who reloads.

Calibers I don't reload I pick up anyway & gift to friends that do. Before that I would swap or sell.
