The first gun I ever bought myself was a bucket list gun:

S&W 586 no dash from the year I was born

A few others that are not unattainable, but I have a hard time justifying:

                FN FiveseveN
                S&W M&P R8
And as skyline said, Coonan 357

I need a few more wheel guns on my bucket list (before I retire). I already informed the wife that I’ll be getting one of these each year within the next couple years, so get ready honey! My top three priorities:

                    S&W 686-Plus (7-shot) 4”. .357Mag
                    S&W Model 66 combat masterpiece 3”. .357Mag
                    S&W 617 4”. .22LR (10-shot)

Maybe not on my "bucket" list but definately on my "buy on sight" list.

Had one in my hands a few years ago at a reasonable price & I didn't know what it was...

Since everybody's bucket list is going to be different, you should sit down and think hard about the direction you want your collection to go. I personally like military stuff, so nearly all civilian type guns do nothing for me.

The exception to the above is that I like pre 1980 Smith and Wessons and have a couple dozen. There have been just so many different models produced over the years that there is a nearly endless variety to choose from.

I am also nuts about Colts in general and military 1911's in particular and have another couple dozen of those.

Collectable military guns are another rabbit hole down which you can throw many thousands of dollars. Once you get the main bases covered, then you can start looking for the more esoteric pieces.

My bucket list stuff of firearms that I still either don't have or want to upgrade are:

I need an all matching WWII K98k, a Nazi occupation Hipower, a three lever VIS 35 and in more modern guns, an HK 93 and an FN FNC. But in reality, the list is much longer than that.

This is where I'm at. All of my guns except one Mosin are civilian. Looking through the marketplace, I used to see Finn's, Swedes, Mausers, Lee Enfields, etc. Seems like a lot of these have dried up and I don't know the next steps.

I like shooters (versus safe queens or non-functional), but that's not necessary. Ideally not looking to have to reload odd calibers if it is a shooter.
