Does anyone laser engrave their Mags?

Saw examples of all kinds of designs being added to magazines and wondered is any of you do your own? What machines do you use and are you happy with it?

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen for your comments.......

There are now products to laser engrave stuff at home:

If I had one, I'd probably have fun and engrave stuff. It would've been very useful for 80% receivers. As far as magazines, it would be nice in fast paced classes or competition where everyone is dropping mags willy nilly to have your name on the mags. Now I just use white Sharpie.

Too much hassle unless you have someone local. I use paint pen to mark mine so I know which ones are becoming unreliable (need spring replacement or other adjustments).

You can buy basepads that are already engraved with the numbers, but they are often "+1" type (add capacity to standard magazines), so you can't buy them in CA.

The only markings I have done are numbering them. And that is just to look for patterns if I run into any feeding issues.

none of those "cheapo" ones can go deep, at best it can remove anodizing, but I doubt the focus on that is very good.

I'm currently using paint pens. Would love to laser engrave them if there was a decent, affordable solution.

I silver or black sharpy my initials on the baseplates. Good enough to ID my mags when policing them from the ground after running drills or a comp stage.

No, waste of money, time and effort. It’s not jewelry.

Thanks team - was just wondering - the only thing i currently do is number them for tracking and trashing ones that go bad. So far different calibers are different colors/sizes so no confusion in the making. But I do like the Hilda behind bars design.
