    Who's responsible?

If you're shooting your gun normally (using new factory rounds) and all of a sudden the gun blows up after you pull the trigger, who's responsible?

If there was a defect with the gun, clearly the gun manufacturer. If there was a problem with the ammo, then clearly the ammo manufacturer.

But after it has happened, how do you prove if it was the ammo or gun manufacturer?

Courts have decided where the victim of negligence or product defect has no fault of their own, the burden is on the possible tortfeasors to figure out who is responsible and both will be liable to the plaintiff until they do so. The non tortfeasor will then be able to sue the actual tortfeasor for indemnification or for proper proportions/percentage of fault once they figure it out.

Your responsible by default. You really can't prove its their fault and they aren't going to accept fault, as they know you really can't prove its their fault.

It's possible to get lucky and one or the other will take care of it. A friend got his Lilja 17 HMR barrel replaced by Federal. He found a bulge in it and sent it to Lilja. They told him it was a squib. He contacted Federal, they told him too bad, not our problem. He kept after them until their Lawyer called. He told him, look it was obviously a squib, confirmed by Lilja. I'm not going to sue you guys either way, but it's your ammo fault, you should take care of it. I've only shot Federal ammo through it all I want is 400 bucks for a new barrel, it's the right thing for you to do. They sent him a check and didn't ask for the barrel. He tried to sell it to me for 100 bucks,LOL. The bulge hardly effected the accuracy at all. I tried it on my gun, even with the bulge it grouped slightly better than my Sako factory barrel.

Trump is responsible. Just ask a liberal. Everything that goes wrong is Trump's fault automatically.

There are risks involved with guns and ammo. You may get lucky or you just may lose.

Had that happen to me. Worst, it was a new pistol with less than 60 rounds through it. The ammo manufacturer replaced the pistol and paid for the ammo. They were very professional and easy to work with.

Unless the rifle or pistol was built by you...then it becomes a bit more complicated.

This. A handgun is a controlled explosion held in your hand. It involves certain risks. Why the need to always make someone else responsible.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.
