Jackson arms in south San Francisco closing

    September 30 per their website.

Any idea why? That place was packed on weekends and had a lot of people on weekdays too. Charged an arm and a leg and got away with it, and in a reletively cheap industrial area. Lots of casual shooters so they were always selling ammo at a huge markup. Hard to believe they weren't making money.

Too bad, now no public range in San Mateo County.
In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.

Um, the snowflake mentality from locals and the "progressive" policies of an overbearing, socialist, city/county/state government forcing them through various unnecessary hoops, both financial and legal.

If the left has their way, their will be no gun stores left in kommiefornia.
    Sorry, not sorry.

I was just there 2 hrs ago doing a PPT.
The owner is retiring and selling the building. The employees were thinking about trying to buy the business but did not have the cash to make a go of it.

Too bad it was he BEST place for PPT on the peninsula. It will be missed for sure.

RIP. I love that place. I only did two PPTs there but both experiences were great.

I wonder what kind of cash we are talking about here.

Kinda strange. If his options are to close up shop and retire or sell and retire, seems like it would make most sense to sell. Maybe even give the store to the employees with the understanding that they will have to pay back a certain amount as they operate the store/sell off inventory.

once the range is closed, I believe it would harder to get the license or get approved again in South City because we have more anti-guns than 80s

I wonder what he's looking for. That place looks like a cash cow. They charge $18 for one lane for one hour and another $9 for an additional shooter, plus sell a ton of ammo and rent handguns and PCCs to the loads of young people who come in with their friends because shooting a gun seems like a fun thing to do.
