    Guns versus crimes

This article is a couple years old, but I found it interesting. I've heard about these towns, but wasn't sure where they were at or what the numbers were.

I was actually trying to find out the murder rate or whatever during the times that EVERYONE carried guns. Anyone know any info on that? There has to have been some studies done at some point.

    You should add a poll...

"Should we make x-city the next 'Gun Town, USA'?"

Oakland is a gun town. At any rate, really, in the "wild west" days when every house had a gun and everyone had a gun on their hip, what was the crime rate?

I've heard that if someone threatened your life, you could shoot them in the back a week later and it was still declared self defense because there were no cops to shoot.

Quite honestly, the reason I'm trying to find this info is for ammo to use against hippies that say if we allow everyone to have a gun, there'll be gun fights on the streets every day. I want to point out a time when everyone had a gun but there was little crime.
