yes, your "friend" just essentially destroyed a gun.

just turn it in at the next gun buyback to get $100 out of it.

although i'm sure your "friend" will have to "deregister" the pistol with the CADOJ somehow so they don't think you still have it down the line.

Sell the slide, lower parts and then buy a new one.

Strip the lower parts out of it and melt it, then send DOJ “No longer in possession” document that you download off their website.

        Sell lower parts kit.
        Sell upper.
        Keep the magazines.

Put the money from the sales into a new Glock.

        Don’t modify the new Glock!

What recoil spring assembly is Lo using? He might have more luck with a Gen 3 recoil spring assembly using the adapters which allow them to be used on Gen 4 slides.

where was Lo trying to take material off from? you could in theory remove most of the picatinny portion as it only is a dust cover.

If Lo is only removing material to accommodate for the captured spring and its not returning to battery I would argue Lo hasn't removed enough material to go into battery but enough to put the slide onto the frame. My guess is the front of the Gen 4 upper is getting hung up on the front of the Gen3 lower after the slide is racked.

I think mr. IQ isn't done with the job

Probably gunna have to end the friendship after this one.
not sure how this is possible since the locking insert and and sear housing hold the upper receiver in place. Again that whole front end (dust cover) is not needed. I can put my G19 slide on my G26 and all the support is in the inserts.

again i'll take your word for it but I could take a flame to that thing and completely melt the front end and if the inserts are straight and none of the area around the take down tabs are affected this thing should still function. then again you'd be affecting the area that holds the serial number but we really need pictures.

                            Nope.

If it is ruined beyond fixing, he should turn it over to police for disposal. Get something in writing that it happened.

Sell gen 4 upper assembly, keep unmolested parts from the Gen 3 frame and buy another gen 3 Glock.

Mosin Virus...just happen to come across a YouTube video of yours. Trigger undercut on a 1911 frame.

                              Dude....beautiful work. Truly talented.

I've read on here that you can make at least three cuts...one being through the trigger guard and dispose the gun. True?
