It's a sellers market. Thin the herd. You know you've bought one or two that you don't really love or will not get out of the safe often enough.
Save up some bucks for when the market switches back. I watch the price of AR lowers. When the mid-grade ones are available for $110 - $120 from the usual low price outlets, then I'll know it is time to be buying.

In the past, with a few exceptions, i bought what i wanted, when i wanted it. Period. If i didn't have the cash, i just put it on the CC and worried about it later.
Lately though i've given more thought to what i buy. I also think much harder about putting it on a CC (haven't done that in a while except for ammo). Decided to concentrate more on improving my shooting with what i have instead of just getting what i wanted on urge. An example is the Saiga 12. I thought they seemed fun and after shooting one, i had to have one, till i really thought about the real cost of a cal compliant one. That much for a shotgun that i'd probably get tired of shooting after a while? All that extra cash just to be legal in cal? Pass. Once i realized i didn't have to have the latest fad gun, all was good. Just seeing improvement with what i have is enough for now.
If prices drop back down on many things to what they were a while back, i might change my tune, but for now i'm just happy with what i have. Yes ammo prices suck right now, but that is the cost to shoot. Now if i could just get those damn Wilson/Les Baer 1911 bugs outta my arse, everything would be golden.
P.S. It helped me alot to stop looking at the for sale section. After a while i didn't even miss it. Still glance there now and then, but not nearly as much as i used to.

Some rifles.
Back to owning some of those "polymer" guns.

Folks, the ups and downs of the market are just part of capitalism. Enjoy what you have, don't waste ammo (make every shot count), and continue to appreciate and enjoy the hobby. In my humble opinion, if the ups and downs of the market make you want to quit, maybe it's not the right hobby for you? Not to drive you away - not my intent - but in the recent history of gun ownership - GCA 68, May '86 cutoff, '89 Bush ban, 1994 Crime Bill, 2000 CA AWB... these have all had their ripple effects on the hobby and look, we're all still here together enjoying the sport. So you see, this has all happened before, and people are still responsibly enjoying the shooting hobby.
Stick with it - life happens.

I understand
But you have to stick with it. I am realtively new and was shooting 4-5 days a week, but we all know that pace cant stay and have money to pay the mortgage. I will not stop, or sell my guns. WIll the market change, probably, but do not stop what our ancestors fought so hard for us to be able to do.
