With so much information, the forum (database backend) is the only way to find the information when we need it.

printing - not efficient, hard to find info

Someone needs to at least save the domainname. And hopefully someone can find a way to get calguns.net a new home [webhost].

                Folks,

It ain't over 'til it's over, and it ain't over at all... breathe easier!

I've been talking with various Calgunners and interested parties. Efforts are already being made to do a smooth transition - ideally a 'transparent' one - to keep 'the lights on' and keep Calguns as Calguns.

Ideally servers, software, hosting, etc. are retained and all web forum posts, PMs, user data, etc. are fully retained.

No guarantees, but that's what's gonna be tried, and the right people are all in touch with each other.

We should all thank Ramon for his tireless running of Calguns these last few years, and for his creating and growing it even in the face of official adversity. For the record, the DOJ had nothing to do with this. It's time for Ramon to care for his family, and we must all offer our prayers and best wishes for him & his...

First of all, I wish Ramon the best of luck.

Second - things like this are precisely why I keep pushing www.thegunwiki.com (and wiki knowledgebases in general) articles as a better option than any forum, for *warehousing* (not to be confused with discussing) vital reference material. Plenty of knowledge would get lost in a loss of Calguns, but any of my more useful posts (and a selection of other guys' how-to guides) are available on thegunwiki, and are free to be mirrored by other sites if they so desire...
