      True, true.

OK, the blender. You can load it or leave it unloaded too, so you can get loaded depending on what you load in the blender. Margaritaville is just a load's throw away.

      Not fixed that for you.

Of course, if it's a real piece of chit, like a slam-fire shotgun made of 2 pieces of pipe zip-tied to a board, you could always take it to your local "gun buy-back" and walk away with a new $100 bill.

Or list it on Armslist and watch the scammers try to cheat you out of money, by pretending to want to buy it and sending you bogus checks.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but thanks for being a Calguns contributor. 👍

Why not take it to a free state?

Why do you think that would make a difference?
                1. If this is in California, California law would be violated but taking possession of the shotgun and doing anything by turning into the police. Taking it to another State won't erase that violation.

                2. Other States have similar laws, for example:

                  1. Georgia statute 16-8-6:
16-8-6. Theft of lost or mislaid property

A person commits the offense of theft of lost or mislaid property when he comes into control of property that he knows or learns to have been lost or mislaid and appropriates the property to his own use without first taking reasonable measures to restore the property to the owner.

                  2. Kentucky KRS 514.050:
514.050 Theft of property lost, mislaid, or delivered by mistake.

                    (1) Except as provided in KRS 365.710, a person is guilty of theft of property lost, mislaid, or delivered by mistake when:

                    (a) He comes into control of the property of another that he knows to have been lost, mislaid, or delivered under a mistake as to the nature or amount of the property or the identity of the recipient; and

                    (b) With intent to deprive the owner thereof, he fails to take reasonable measures to restore the property to a person entitled to have it....

                3. The general rule is that in law it's not, "finders-keepers." The owner of a thing isn't necessarily immediately stripped of legal title (ownership rights) to a thing if he mislays or loses it. So if you find something, you can't necessarily immediately consider it yours to keep.
"It is long been a principle of ours that one is no more armed because he has possession of a firearm than he is a musician because he owns a piano. There is no point in having a gun if you are not capable of using it skillfully." -- Jeff Cooper

Dust gorillas after that much time!

OP why not ID the firearm here so people know what you're talking about?

It might be a C&R or an Antique, further info might be useful.

I have a shotgun purchased in 1959 through the Montgomery Wards Catalog and shipped directly to our home, there is no "current" paperwork or record of sale.

                          this thread reaks of suspicion!!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

even an old gun, could have been DROS'd more recently, and therefore registered. My biggest fear would be that it has already been reported stolen. I would hate to have to explain that to police, why you have a stolen firearm. "it was there when I moved in years ago" doesn't sound like it would go over well. Leaving it under the bed doesn't wholly prevent them from finding it, your cellphone could catch on fire while charging next to your bed and the firefighters come across it, something like that.

its been there for years, well long guns weren't registered to people by serial numbers at dros til 2014 I think and firearms could be bought and sold cash and carry in ca. up until 1991
