    Dros delayed

When I was pickup my gun from my ffl today, I was surprised that my dros was delayed. I have done dozens of firearm transfers before and they all went through without a problem, I never knew this kind of status existed....

I'm just wondering what may caused the delay and how often does the delay goes to undetermined. (my dealer is not willing to release the gun under undetermined status.)

If there is anyone who have experienced this kind of issue, can you share your experience with me?

    Any info would be helpful

    Thanks

I have checked the dros from with my ffl dealer and there appears to be no error on the form. I also have a rather uncommon name that is hard to get mixed up.

Unfortunately, the CaDoJ won't give you any info over the phone because they have no way to verify the caller's identity. I had a customer on delay and he even had his attorney request info on the delay and they received nothing in return. Even though he had previously purchased firearms the delay went the full 30 days before they issued his approval. Wacky times in Sacto.

So what happens when the delay passes the 30 day pick-up mark? purchaser has to reDROS if the approval arrives after the 30 day mark?

I had a delay for some unknown reason, after about 3 days i was gtg. No idea why, calling wont make a difference, so just wait it out. Review your copy of the paperwork and make sure the info looks correct is about all you can do

They did for me a few years ago; in talking nicely with them, we figured out that there was merely a typographical error on the DROS that was not easily apparent just by looking at the print-out, all within the 10 day wait. Picked it up on day 15 without issue but only because I couldn't get to the store earlier.
