Went to ship my vortex red dot and the local ups store said they can't accept any handgun related cargo there. If I wanted to use ups I would have to drive to main hub in modesto and waste an hour of my day. Where is the common sense that they can't accept non dangerous aluminum and glass when it was resealed in the same damn box that planet optics sent it to me in the first place using ups

Capitalization matters. You could gift wrap it and put it in a box and try a different store.

visit a different store, lie about what is inside.

call it an optics system for telescope. (there are actually red dot scopes for telescopes for quick sight in before viewing through the main lens)

just make sure to insure it for the full value. and pack it really well. these days, with the amount of machinery in the sorting warehouses, that box would probably be slammed into by another box holding dumb bells or something.

You can install a red dot on a rifle or even a BB gun. Heck, I even installed one on my kids nerf gun. It’s not “handgun related cargo.”

Because OpticsPlanet uses a smart pick up, while you went to some jack hole who opened up a UPS Store and is now being a jack hole.

I usally use usps priority mail. Cheap, easy, and fast, plus u it has tracking and offers additional insurance if you want it.

Why did you tell them it was firearm related? Less is more. Go to another store. If they ask what it is, say it's a telescope.

Told them it was red dot for the insurance and the fact that I had mailed other firearms related material in the past few months and yes they asked previously and that person didn't say there was a problem. As for not using the post office, the wait there is usually 3 x as long and I got problem with the way they run things there too. I once used their vending machine to purchase stamps and after putting in my $20 bill it gave me nada. I asked an employee in the lobby and she told me I needed to wait in line for help. 15 minutes later, I'm given a refund slip to fill out. Turns out the damn vending machine selling us postal service stamps isn't even run by the damn post office and I gotta wait up to 2 weeks for some bozo civilian to decide whether his machine ripped me off or not.

You need to simplify your s**t. It's easy to create accounts with USPS, FedEx, and UPS and create and print your own shipping labels in the comfort of your crib. Box your s**t up, slap the label on, and drop it on the counter at the UPS Store, etc. with no questions axed. Get ya'alls s**t together, Homie.
