Sportsman's Guide Backorder

So I placed an order with the Sportsman's Guide for 1000 rounds of Fiochi 9mm. It said it would be on backorder until 4/6/09. I was surprised to see that it would ship so quick, well I got an email this morning telling me that the backorder date has changed to 9/29/09. Sweet Jesus. I want to go shooting, but if I do, I won't be able to replace the ammo I use. I guess I can just go shoot 22lr.

i had .223 wolf backorderd and they pushed it back twice on me but i got it by the time i did the price almost doubled so it was a good investment

Why on Earth would you even waste your time with Sportsman Guide ?? When your ammo does come off backorder I'm willing to bet you get the "we dont ship to CA" e-mail

I ordered from there because they were the only place that I could find that "had" a reasonable backorder time.

If it's "backordered", then DON'T BUY IT!

When CTD or SPG say they're "backordered" it's code for "we ran out, and we guess we'll have more on the following date"...

and when we do ship it we will charge the new price and not the price you thought you bought it at.

That's nothing, I ordered some .45 ACP in January 2009. I got an email a couple days later saying it had been put on backorder until January 2010!!! Needless to say I cancelled and buy my ammo elsewhere now.

funny thing, last week I ordered alot of 00 buck shells and had the same backorder, then yesterday saw the same date as everyone else. WTF

thats the only reason I didnt buy alot at the gun show, because i was waiting for my order

Last time I ordered ammo from them, they stated that it was a 3 month back order. 3 weeks later my ammo arrived. I think they may post a longer back order time just to cover their arse. Sort of like Star Trek when Scotty would always tell Kirk that it would take 8 hours to get the engines on line when he knew it would only take him 4 hours.
