Given that you won't likely do it non-stop, I'd store the guns in my room at night.

Why would you put a loaded gun in a case? Kind of defeats the purpose of it being loaded.

OP, once you hit the border on I-40, there are virtually zero gun laws the rest of the way, certainly compared to what you are used to anyway.

AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, TN. Not one of them care. And don't worry if you stray into Guntucky, Missouri or Mississippi, they don't care either. Obviously consult the state laws, and keep your rifles unloaded in the car.

I have been east, and I love it. Looking for some land east TN or KY, and once I am about to retire at 50 1/2 ill get my modular home.
