Went through the process, seems you need medium resolution photos 640 x 480 as they bounced the 320 x 240 ones.

Did one on May 15th, still "In Progress". Or maybe DOJ will wait until 7/2 and then kick the thing back...

I instruct it if you shoot it.

          OP, don't overthink it.

Generic AR pistol, < 16" barrel, pistol buffer tube, BB. Noting else. Make sure the pistol was purchased or build before 2017.

On the form I think DOJ is asking people to check the "2nd hand grip" option.

Why are they asking to check second hand grip?

Needs to be a pistol buffer tube? Fixed stock rifle tube with the threads drilled out?

Self serial number or DOJ assigned? To register AR pistol as AW, 80% self built will require DOJ assigned serial number. Its in the Reg.

It is really getting late if needing to get the DOJ assigned serial number. It takes good 3 to 4 weeks for DOJ to assign the number.

Because the handguard on an AR15 style pistol meets CA's defintion of a "second hand grip" and a "shroud".
