Spray painting grips ...

Forget cerakote, duracote, alum hide and such.

Will Rustoleum or Krylon adhere good on Polymer grips? Anyone here tried them?

I tried the Rit dye (FDE) on black polymer grips and it didn't do any squat. Duh!

I still have some Zinsser indoor/outdoor primer, I hope it is good enough. If not, do you guys have any brand recommendatioj?

I’ve been using gun-kote lately and really like it. There’s no mixing involved, but you do have to bake it at 325 degrees. I’ve only used it on metal so far, and I’m Not sure what the melting point of polymer is. But it is very durable and easy to apply.

Don't use just any primer-read your selected paint manufacture's specific recommendation.

I picked up a bargain set of Magpul furniture in "Sand"... it's almost ghost white. Just got a can of Aervoe spray paint from Aervoe to at least accent it before I put it on my SBR. Hope it sticks better than Krylon as I haven't had much luck with that on prior occasions.

There are different kind of polymer/plastics, and some will adhere better than others. I've sprayed a few, and except for high wear areas, regular spray paint works fine. I think, more importantly, you have to totally degrease the part first. Scrub with dish soap, simple green, etc., as needed. I don't use primer, which is sometimes soft.

I have used Precision Color paint .. It is made for touch up on Auminum Doors and windows .It has held up fine .. Also high heat engine paint works fine . Be sure to sand and clean really well

Use spray paint primer made for plastics. Ideally you use a dark primer as white is harder to cover

i also use a heat gun .. heat up the grip ,spray on a very fine coat . let cool for anout 5-10 min. repeat as needed
