Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it. -
I fired a friend's dealer sample a few times. In fact, I may again tomorrow if he decides to bring to the range.
Accuracy: None
Overall experience: Meh. A good way to go broke. I'll shoot somebody elses's G18, but I wouldn't spend my own money on one."Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook PeglerComment

I used to be pretty heavily involved in the class III owners in Texas and Arizona so Ive shot the 18 many times over the years.
Really fun but for me full auto pistols are more novelty than being fun to shoot.
Great investment though.Comment

Thanks all, pretty much as i expected. I'll be heading to GA on business in the fall and hopefully I can network into someone/range who has one and drop few mags.
Guns and guitars - just curious what price range on the 18? is it so rare that the price has risen steadily regardless of the economy?Comment

Late-1990s, a post-dealer sample Glock 18C Gen 3 was $800.
^That is what the FFL/SOT that I worked for paid for it (had a Mil demo letter requesting it) and what they sold it for (after the Mil demo letter was recinded).
~It was demonstrated (used with) a breaching shield for CQB with engagement ranges of less than 10 yards.
All factory Glock 18 are classified as post-'86 Title 2 MG.
Only FFL/SOT and Gov/Mil/LE agencies can legally acquire them.
^ FFL/SOT need a Gov/Mil/LE demonstration letter, in order to acquire factory made.
*07-FFL/03-SOT can make their own Title 2 MG without needing a Gov/Mil/LE demo letter, but it wouldn't be an actual Glock 18 (they would be modified Glock type/style pistol with auto sear).
Which means non-exempt persons can not legally own a Glock 18 in the USA.Last edited by Quiet; 05-22-2018, 7:05 AM.sigpic

I posted the same answer in 2009, once you've shot a few magazines the G18C is fairly easy to control. Demonstration was at 10 yards and in. Never fired it from 25 yards. Calguns member Lunde took some photos of my factory demonstrator. They may be here somewhere.Comment

I shot a G18 one time in Reno. I think only 2 out of 15 rounds hit a target @ 25 yards.

There are very few fully transferable factory G18's so I would say price is based more on if one of the few owners will sell one. I have never seen one for sale.
I made my own converted G19GEN4. Customers rent it but I rarely use it personally. It is not impossible to control but it requires a degree of focus and safety much higher than a typical machine gun since it is so light and so high a rate of fire. I'm still trying ot get my AA .22lr kit to cycle with it. I might change over to a GEN3 as those seem to work better than GEN4 in full auto.
Don't really understand the accuracy comments. It is just as accurate as a semi auto Glock on the first round and when used at pistol distance of 20-40 feet it will walk right up a torso. Most guys that shoot machine guns just do not know how to properly aim. I was in the desert today with my 12 year old son and my cousin. My 12 year old can run my open bolt UZI on a 2/3 IPSC plate 30 yards away and make 2-3 hits while my cousin who normally shoots semi auto guns has not learned proper technique of shooting low right and letting the gun walk up and left. Anyone that aims dead center with a machine gun just does not know the proper technique and most of those rental places only care about making money so they don't teach much. Same thing with proper stance. I see guys get pushed around with 8lb 9mm rifles because they have no idea how to stand while my 12 yr old can rock a 40 round AK47 mag dump with no issues.
If oyu go to :48 you can see my selecfire G19.

So if you were in a free state, how could you turn your glock full auto?
Whats the legal process?
Could you use it as a bedside gun for SD?Comment
