Possible Site Closure in Tuolumne County

I read an article on our local news website regarding a letter that was sent to BLM by the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors requesting closure of the BLM shooting site on French Flat Road.

    Article: https://www.mymotherlode.com/news/lo...ns-to-blm.html

if you do shoot at this location, please send an e-mail to Karl Rodefer (District 5 Supervisor) to express your thoughts and concerns.

    krodefer@co.tuolumne.ca.us

Please: Keep your comments businesslike, since I plan to send Mr. Roderfer a link to this thread.

    Thanks,

Someone should suggest to the Board of Supervisors to request that DoF / BLM issue a Request for Bid to have someone run a shooting range concession out there...that would solve both the safety and clean up issues.

Trash left by shooters is one of the biggest reasons shooting areas are closed down!

Yup.. lots of trailer trash gun owners unfortunately....I cant believe all the crap I used to see at public shooting area's. That and the safety issues made me see the value in private gun club membership.

I do not doubt that the place is a trash heap but; in the "My Mother Lode dot Com" article; trash was not mentioned-just shooting. So if it were pristine clean would the concern go away?

Not down south. We clean here regularly but Cal Fire doesn't like us.
