    Brand X vs. Brand Y

Do other people have this issue when selling guns? You offer a Brand X firearm for sale and prospective customer tells you they can get a Brand Y firearm for a couple of hundred dollars cheaper, so you should sell them your Brand X even cheaper than the Brand Y.

Same here as a seller, I just do not respond to pm's or email's. So far, it's been a Calguns-only experience.

As a buyer, I may offer a lower than asking price. At that point the seller can either end the discussion or negotiate.

Try this the next time somebody hits you with that...

"Then go buy Brand Y you idiot." The last two words are optional.

X chromosome vs Y chromosome. Easy decision; girl gun or a man's gun, 9mm vs .45?

                This would annoy me!

As a prospective buyer, it's equally frustrating that sellers put current, on-roster pieces up for sale at or near prices available (and easily researched online) for a new in the box model and then bump the thread every day for weeks. Understandable if extras are included, but I don't want to buy a Gen 3 Glock, however lightly used, for $500 only to save the sales tax vs a brand new gun.

I just tell them --Then go buy that. Then end the conversation or emails.

I also look at adds that are selling used guns I can buy new for the same or even lower prices and think WTF??? The same for reloading stuff or gun accessories.

I say "No, but thanks for looking". I think everyone has this issue. We are private sellers, so haggling attempts (even when they completely lowball you) are to be expected.

I tend to price my firearms, parts and accessories at a reasonable price to avoid those PM’s. Yet I still get those replies. I just ignore them.

Compare MSRP on both brands, if both guns are "like-new, only 50 rounds down the barrel'.
