Police deaths give leverage to toughen gun laws

Excerpt:
"Callers have encouraged Feinstein to sponsor tough new anti-gun laws, said Gil Duran, a press spokesman. But, he said, Feinstein believes it's appropriate to honor the families' mourning period before she proposes new gun legislation."
Items of interest are the top three comments at the bottom of article.
I actually don't consider this journalism, or even a valid news article, this is basically opinionated 'blogging' with minimal or no fact checks and lacking informational value. But that's basically the definition of a modern 'Column.'
Maybe they need to stop pretending to be experts on every subject they choose to soapbox this week and go back to writing columns on food and local gossip.
It's not even this particular article that constantly irritates me about this failing newspaper, it's the lack of effort into a majority of articles that has me questioning it's creditability. Their constant re-iteration of other articles (i.e. near plagiarism) combined with "cut-and-paste" submissions make this at best a questionable source of information.
Also, before anyone flies off the handle and mails the author, or comments, go to the 2nd Amend. Politics and Laws section of our forum and read this.
I basically just did my venting here so I wouldn't insult this gentleman's choice of vocation via phone or mail.
