AR Maglock issue

When mines installed the magazine doesn’t release when you press the button with the action open. Half of the bar (screw side) pushes out but not the other side where the actual catch is. I tried tightening it and loosening it but nothing seems to work.

which kit did you get?


If you got the Kingpin with AR Maglock Gen2 make sure the tabs on the ar maglock are fitting in the channel on the mag catch and tighten down. Not too tight...but tight enough that the system has no play in it

There should be NO play at all in the mag catch side. That usually indicates that the mag catch is too loose.

If the tabs are not seated in the channel properly and then tightened down you may get some play.

Last resort if the tabs are bent or broken off its no big deal. Clear them out and reinstall.

Gen 1.

If I tighten the screw anymore to take up the play then the arm on the other side wrench down into the upper. And when you open it up ill automatically tighten down (inside) and then you can close the upper without removing the screw again.

No idea. Self built with "mil spec" upper and lower. They fit really well. Not sure what the issue is with this.

So heres what its doing. It just levers up near the screw and the other end actually goes the opposite way (in).

Pretty sure I figured out what it is. Looks like they sent me a bent one.... Even when I take the screw out and press the bar in flat it curves way inwards and is not level.

Yup. That is very well looking to be the case. If you have a vise with flat faces put the mag catch in it and cinch it down t make it flat again
