2000 rds of what caliber? if it's 9mm or rifle ammo for an AR? you could just go on a few range trips to use it up, or bring it to your next group shoot.

You can bring in only 50rds right? Is there any limit on what you can take out? If not, take it with you and keep or sale in GA

Depending on caliber, 2,000 rounds fits into one or at most two 50 cal ammo cans. I would just bring it with you when you move. Selling ammo in CA is too much of a hassle these days.

Most moving companies don’t want to handle guns or Ammo.

Don’t tell is a good policy.....

Shipping to a relative near your new home would be my suggestion

            Or keep calling Gun stores
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

FFL can charge $5 for FTF transfer of 500 rounds per month. If he receives a shipment for you he can charge what he wants.

                  2000 rounds?
Hardly enough to unload, why not shoot it?

What you got. Maybe some of us near you might want some of it. If the price is fair and a caliber I need I'd probably buy 500 rounds.

And yes, my understanding is that 500 rounds or less per month FTF is GTG. How soon you leaving?

Does anyone kniw if the OP can sell directly to an FFL03? If so, I might be interested if the caliber and price is right.

I would just take it with you, Seems like best option. When you get to GA if you don't want it you can sell it there to help cover some of that fuel cost to get there. Why deal with California unless you need the cash for your trip, then, in that case, I can understand. I had not been doing well in one state a long time ago and was selling anything and everything I owned to get enough to cover my move and also get rid of as much weight to haul back as possible. If you are in a hurry maybe you can just sale directly to a gun shop, Hopefully, they do not low ball you too badly, they are going to want to make a profit off of it.

Exactly. There was a thread a few weeks ago where a guy was asking advice about moving a quarter million reloads..this 2000 seems trivial

If it's 9mm then spend $550 on the new Ruger PC9 and you will be shot through that 2000 rounds in about 45 minutes

Hold a Calguns party at the range. Price of admission: each Calgunner will have to bring an off roster gun you'd want to buy in GA. He gets to shoot 200 rounds of your ammo for free and you get to shoot 50 rounds through his gun. Or whatever ratio you deem fair.

Or you name the off roster gun you want to try, he gets to call the number of rounds that will cost you.

Win-win. You get to try it before you buy it.
