1000 yard team match.

Here's a chance to come out and shoot at 1000 yards, still room for more shooters. Here's a note from the guy running it, contact him if you're interested.

This is just another reminder about the 1000 yard team match we are having at the Desert Marksmen range in Palmdale, CA on October 29th, 2006. E-mail me for the info and application sheets. The match has two classes, .30 cal through .416 cal, and .50 cal. Awards will be given in both classes 1st through 4th places, plus an award for top shooter in each class. This is a very fun match. This is the third match of its' kind we have held this year at the Desert Marksmen range. Entry cost is $50.00 per team. If you would like to shoot, but don't have a partner, contact me and I will hook you up with a partner who wants to shoot in the same class. Handicap shooters, as well as aged shooters are welcome and will be allowed to use a bench to fire from. So, contact me and we will get you squared away for this match. Thanks. Tom

What if you have never shot past 300 yds?

There's plenty of time given to sight in at 1000 yards, if there's no wind it won't be as hard. If we get wind out there then the stakes are raised as you'll need to read the wind to get on target. We've been lucky, the past couple times we've held the match there the wind has only been blowing at about 5 MPH.

My 1,000 yard gun is a 6.5x284 so I guess I don't qualify.
