I don't want to take this off topic, but what is it about California you like better than Arizona that has you wanting to return, besides the lack of the blast furnace weather you get out there?
(I know nothing about the AZ economy / job market).

I've considered moving to Arizona a few times and buying some land, but I don't do well in temps above 90 degrees.

You need to clarify what state you were a resident of.

Registered to vote where? Maine
Drivers license where? California
Car titled where? Maine
Car license plates where? Maine and California
Payroll payments from where? Maine
Own property where? California
Spend most of your time where? Oregon, California, Maine in that order


If a few of those are CA you never left and are a CA resident with all the limitations that involves.

Ohh and US military and DHS. California has zero say in where I am a resident. I am also a permanent resident of Alaska.

I am looking at homes in Nevada and if I get one five of the seven items mentioned by Marauder2003 will be nevada and california will only be able to claim me in terms of taxes since my stupid pension comes from them. Other than that I intend to be free and clear never be a resident /slave again. california is the only state that does that or so it seems.

PS- if you know how to reload buy Bear Bullets in Minden/Gardnerville and have your own business. It operates in the black and always has. They are willing to show you everything and introduce you to everyone if you take over. have a solid reputation and a lot of good will towards them even from other shops. Heck of an alternative to coming back to california and they are talking a large discount on inventory.

It's crazy hot the job market is horrible but it's cheap. If you have a job that can transfer you to az do it but if your coming out here looking for work dont waste your time.
