Dying polymer pistol flames?

So I'm under the assumption that when dying something you can only go shades darker and I would like to dye my glock frame a darkish purple but seeing how my glock frame is black that won't work. So that got me thinking, could I buy a "tactical" grey or fde poly 80 frame and dye it purple? Any input would be appreciated.

I stand corrected! That is pretty awesome. Of course, my experience with dying plastics comes from soaking lacrosse stick heads to dye them. Those would soak for several days to take the dye. Seems polymer only takes a few minutes.

Central NY. Played growing up and all through high school. Seems the sport is catching on here on this coast.

I played college lacrosse on the west coast. Too funny.

Made the west coast lacrosse league all star team two years, which means I’m about as skilled as the average 8th grade east coast player (at least back in the day) lol

My biggest concern would be the dye might damage the polymer through some chemical interaction and weaken the gun.
