    Alquist Arms Experience

Had a nice experience with Alquist Arms in Turlock.

They have an online chat that I used a couple of times to ask questions about preorder for my Glock 17, and residency stuff. They were very nice, and up front.

On my first trip there, the FSC test and all the paperwork were completed quickly, but I did have a few minutes to look around. Nice selection of weapons, ammo and accessories, very clean, well lit and organized. I was in and out in about 35 minutes.

When I went in on pick-up day (why does 10 days + two weekends seem so long?) The remaining paperwork took only a few minutes, and I also bought some ammo and cleaning supplies at the same time. In and out in about 30 minutes.

I was there when they opened for the day both times, and they got busy real quick. I heard from others they get crazy busy on Friday and Saturday, so during the week is best, if you can swing it.

The staff was very helpful, courteous, and know their stuff. Their prices are competitive from what I have seen. I recommend them if you are reasonably close by.

I have only dealt with them online - good experience and I would recommend.

Great people, and great store, they've always treated me extremely well. That's why they're always busy.

            Red O77,

My understanding is that the Center Street store was closed. I went to the store on Freitas Park.

The Freitas park store is where I bought my 97B years ago when I lived down there. Got it for $629, cheapest I had ever seen. That's a really good shop, very nice people. I went to the downtown store a couple times and was not impressed. Ended up leaving without doing any business both times. The older guys there just came off very rude and dismissive. I heard from others who went there they had the same experience.

I have done quite a bit of business with them and it's always been solid. I just wish they had a smith available that's what is really missing in this area.

I've also had a good experience at Alquist and several of my buddies have traveled from Gilroy to Turlock to purchase firearms and the like.

I've always used the Freitas Park store, but I know the other store had used firearms for sale, did they move that to Freitas Park?
